Why fleet managers should bring their teams to CCIA 2026

Why fleet managers should bring their teams to CCIA 2026

Whether you’re test driving the latest cars and vans available or networking with peers and industry experts, Company Car in Action is not to be missed - and a rewarding team experience.

Company Car in Action (CCIA) 2026 is now open for registration.

This Fleet news event will run on June 11-12 at UTAC Millbrook in Bedfordshire, giving attendees - whether attending individually or as a group - the opportunity to examine, compare, and get behind the wheels of more than 300 of the newest cars and vans available to fleets.

A roster of 40 manufacturer brands are currently confirmed to be bringing their latest models to the event – a record in CCIA history.

Both days of Company Car in Action 2026 will also feature a range of discussion panels with opinions and advice from leading experts, offering insights on important fleet issues.

With so many manufacturer brands and industry specialists in attendance, CCIA 2026 is an unmissable opportunity to engage with crucial industry insights and get to grips with the latest vehicles on specialised driving courses.

Teams attending the event can also contact the organisers to take advantage of dedicated meeting spaces, available across both days of CCIA on an hourly allocation basis.

James Rooney from Network Rail brought his team to 2025’s Company Car in Action, and spoke to Fleet News about how this saved him time and led to straightforward vehicle purchases.

“Taking my team to CCIA last year was very beneficial. There’s a few active decision-makers in the business who aren’t necessarily fleet colleagues – they’ll be end users, stakeholders, drivers and financiers – and bringing them on the journey of selecting the product was really useful first-hand.

“We gave them a list of vehicles to effectively review for us, and there’s no real losers for us whoever we choose out of this, because they’re pre-selected.

“The result was a conclusive decision on the car that we were going to purchase for job requirement use, and we had unanimous buy-in. Because of unanimous buy-in, you’ve avoided 100 conversations with various different stakeholders to bring them in, bring them up to speed, or bring them into the fold.

“We placed an order with Ford for the Explorer, and some with KIA. Both those decisions were made as an outcome of CCIA and, because we have cyclical buying patterns, we’re doing the same in the year coming up.

“I’m really looking forward to this year’s event. It seems to get bigger and bigger, and also it’s a month’s worth of work in a day.”

Rooney's comments were echoed by National Grid's Lorna McAtear, who brought her entire team to last year's CCIA.

“Attending Company Car in Action is always an invaluable experience for anyone in fleet," she said.

"It provides a unique opportunity to engage with various vehicle manufacturers and explore the latest innovations.

“My entire team (cars, commercial and procurement) joins in at the event, and we share notes on what we have seem, talked about or driven. We usually have a target for a couple of vehicles that we want to test – mainly the vans as a possible future purchase.

“Sometimes we are together, piling into a car or van, more often than not though, we break off and I see one or two of my team rushing past me with a grin on their face as they excitedly head to their next test drive!  We often meet up over lunch or for an ice-cream and keep comparing notes during the day.  It is an incredibly relaxed and yet highly informative, practical day.”
