De Prez noted that, since the last Company Car in Action, new entrants have continued to disrupt, mainstream brands have pivoted their powertrain strategies from electric to hybrids and, most recently, oil prices skyrocketed.
For fleet decision makers, there has never been a more important time to keep abreast of the latest models and initiatives from car manufacturers. As prices soar, across the board, drivers are increasingly looking for more affordable options.
Choosing the right cars for your fleet is a decision that shouldn’t be taken lightly.
Company Car in Action offers a showcase of more than 300 of the latest and most advanced vehicles available to fleets, with 45 manufacturer brands on the steering pad at Millbrook, each with their representatives on hand to answer any questions and demonstrate their latest models.
De Prez highlighted some of the innovations the fleet sector has seen across the last 12 months.
Examples included how BMW launched the iX3, the first car to offer a WLTP range of more than 500 miles. Additionally, at the Mercedes-Benz stand you’ll be able to get behind the wheel of the new GLC, the iX3’s keenest rival. You can complete the trio by visiting Audi’s stand and trying the Q6 e-tron, and it’ll also be worth stopping at Volvo’s stand for an early look at the new EX60 – another 500-mile EV that’ll be a key competitor when it launches later this year. At last year’s event, Volvo debuted the ES90 - it’s new flagship electric saloon - and this year you’ll be able to get behind the wheel.
Another newcomer that’s worth looking at is Porsche’s Cayenne. With a range of almost 400 miles and modest pricing, it’s a newcomer that’s likely to be in high demand among drivers – especially as there’s a version with almost 1,200 horsepower.
The cheaper end of the market is also well-catered for at CCIA, with plenty of small electric cars to try. These include the fiercely popular Renault 5, along with the closely related new Nissan Micra. In fact, Nissan has two key models on stand because the reborn Leaf is also going to be at the event.
A few months ahead of its official launch, the Cupra Raval will make an appearance too. It’s the first in a new line of electric superminis from VW Group, promising to set a new standard for range and drivability in the segment.
While many of the brands at CCIA will be familiar, there are a number of newcomers. Changan makes its debut, with both its S05 and S07 cars, along with Chery and its full line-up of Tiggo models. Completing the group quarter, Lepas will join Chery, Omoda and Jaecoo, with its L8 making an early public appearance.
With so many new cars and brands to choose from, CCIA is the ideal place to familiarise yourself with them and meet key contacts in the industry.
